Investigating a body on the ruined lakeshore of Toronto, Detective Megan Kershaw discovers it’s a discarded Mech with a mind swipe chip. Tracing it leads her to Denton Weathers, the richest man in the city. After their discussion, Megan receives a commendation, recommended by Weathers.
Then her partner is murdered during the investigation.
